Young people benefit from mhs community chest
Young people from a residents
association based in Chatham will be enjoying the rides and thrills
at Thorpe Park thanks to a mhs community charity cheque donation of
£1,000.
Residents from Prospect Row and Bryant
Street Residents Association approached the charity for funding to
help with their summer activities. Ron Smith, Vice Chairman and
Treasurer of the Association said, "We asked the children what they
wanted to do this summer and they all wanted to go to a theme park.
It’s difficult to keep them entertained during their long summer
holidays and it can get really expensive so we approached mhs
community charity for help. We were over the moon that we were
being donated £1,000 for our summer activities and it means that we
can take children out on a trip that many wouldn’t usually be able
to afford."
The cheque was presented to the
children and members of the Prospect Row and Bryant Street
Residents Association by mhs homes Service Development Co-ordinator
Katherine Clark.
Eleven year old, Charlie Best can’t
wait to go to the theme park. She said, "I’m really excited that we
are going up in a big coach together, it’s going to be great fun.
I’m looking forward to going on all the rides with my friends."
