Strood Fun Day to benefit from community chest
donation
A fun day organised by Strood
Community Events Association will be benefiting from some extra
cash this summer thanks to a mhs community charity cheque donation
of £200.
Paul Robinson, Chairman of the
association was presented with the cheque by Chair of mhs community
charity and Tenant Board Representative, Eileen Kenward.
Paul said, "We hold a fun day every
year for local residents which helps to promote community links
with agencies like the Police, Fire Brigade, Schools, Churches and
voluntary groups. We applied for a mhs community charity chest
donation and were really happy to hear that we were getting £200 to
help towards our fun day. We are hoping to use this to pay for
circus skills to be taught to the children."
Eileen Kenward said, "The Community
Chest is a funding stream which is open to individuals and group
projects that encourage greater involvement in local community
activities where mhs own or manage homes. Supporting this fun day
is a prime example of how groups like the Strood Community Events
Association are making use of the community chest."
