ISO 14001 accrediationmhs achieves ISO 14001 accreditation

Local housing association mhs homes has achieved the ISOQAR 14001 Environmental Management accreditation.

mhs homes new Chief Executive, Ashley Hook was presented with the certificate by ISOQAR Auditor Jaz Kimball at the housing associations Annual General Meeting. Jaz said, "mhs homes is one of the best companies I have observed. They genuinely care about their customers and staff which clearly comes across in their work."

An Environmental Management and Sustainability group has been established with mhs staff from across the organisation meeting up regularly to discuss new ways of moving the business forward. Jamie Monk, Sustainable Development Coordinator said, "We are trying to do our bit to ensure that future generations will have a better world to live in. This means influencing not only our customers and contractors but also suppliers, corporate institutes and community associations. We are aiming to build on our successes to ensure that we are a responsible workforce doing our bit for the local environment."

The ISO 14001 accreditation specifies a framework of control for an Environmental Management System against which an organisation can be certified by a third party. mhs homes will be tested annually to ensure they are complying with all the requirements needed to maintain the ISO 14001 accreditation.
