Housing officers

Our Housing Officers look after everything to do with tenancies of our 8000 properties. This includes rent collection, tenancy enforcement, anti-social behaviour, signing up new tenants, dealing with abandoned vehicles and estate management.

There are 13 housing officers, who are divided into two teams: Rochester/Strood and Chatham/Gillingham.

Your Housing Officer is there to welcome you to your new home. He or she can advise you throughout your tenancy on issues ranging from dealing with tenancy issues, rent payments to mutual exchanges and they can also advise you if you wish to transfer, terminate your tenancy or add another person to your tenancy.

One of the key roles of your housing officer is to ensure that your estate is maintained and looked after and this done by carrying out regular Estate Walkabouts. We encourage residents to attend these walkabouts with their Housing Officers as the condition of the estate effects us all. If you think improvements are needed in your neighbourhood and you would like to take part in an estate walkabout please contact your Housing Officer.

Please note that the walkabouts will only focus on the estate generally and any issues that could affect everyone living in the area. They are not an opportunity for individuals to make complaints about other tenants or a time to talk about repairs to an individual property.
