Demolition at Gads Hill
The site at Gads Hill Gillingham was previously home to the derelict Four Brothers Pub and was purchased by mhs homes in March 2010.
Plans consist of a block for nine 1 bedroom flats which will be designated for general needs rent.
Each property will be finished to high eco-standards, achieving Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
Grant funding has been achieved on this development from the Homes and Communities Agency and the Chartway Group are the approved contractor.
The properties are set to be completed by December this year. All 9 flats will be allocated through Kent Homechoice.
Shared Ownership at Sir Evelyn Road
Detailed planning consent was achieved at the end of May 2010 for the construction of nine 3 bedroom family homes on this site near to the Rochester HM Prison. There will be a mixture of general needs rent and shared ownership available on this development built to level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
Work is due to start on site in August with completion anticipated for Summer 2011.
Development at Barnfield gathers pace
The original bungalow which once stood on this site was demolished because of problems with subsidence and the vacant site is now being redeveloped into 3 three bedroom homes.
The contractor is James Lewis Developments who aims to complete the new properties by September this year.
mhs homes has secured a grant contribution from the Homes and Communities Agency of £139,500 to part fund this development.
The homes will be built to Level 3 of the Code for Sustainable Homes. The properties will also achieve Lifetime Homes and Secured By Design accreditation.
The three new homes will be advertised and allocated through Medway Homechoice to General Needs tenants.
Eastcourt Lane development nears completion
Formerly the Sportsman’s pub in Twydall, Eastcourt Lane will be our first development of purpose built apartments. 16 in total, the scheme will consist of both 1 and 2 bedroom properties.
The development is part funded by the Homes and Communities Agency and all of the new homes will be designated for General Needs Rent and will be let through Medway Homechoice. mhs Commercial is the appointed contractor on site.
Garages to make way for family homes at Campion Close
Campion Close is currently home to a garage site which was identified by mhs homes as a problem site due to vandalism and fly-tipping. It became unpopular as a result.
Plans were drawn up for a scheme of five family houses. Consisting of three 2 bedroom houses and two 3 bedroom houses. These properties have been designed to meet very high eco standards and it is hoped that the properties will achieve Level 4 of the Code for Sustainable Homes.
Planning has been achieved and we are now in the process of selecting a contractor for this scheme.
Work started on-site in June with an anticiapted completion in March 2011.
