Georgina Messenger - Anti Social Behaviour Officer

mhs homes has a responsibility to its residents to take all forms of complaints of nuisance and anti social behaviour seriously. We have a dedicated Anti Social Behaviour officer - Georgina Messenger to deal with issues of anti-social behaviour. Georgina, who is based at our head office Broadside, Leviathan Way is working to improve local neighbourhoods and build community pride throughout Medway.

Georgina said, “ I joined mhs homes after spending 5 years as neighbourhood police officer in Maidstone.  I wanted to bring the experience I’d gained as a police officer to the role of Anti Social Behaviour officer and to help build the links between the community, mhs homes and other statutory agencies”

“The mhs homes Housing Officers are responsible for dealing with initial reports we receive of Anti Social Behaviour. I offer advise and support to them to ensure complaints are dealt with effectively and appropriately.  If a case cannot be resolved at this level it will be passed to me to take the appropriate action. This can be by liaising with Local Communities, Tenants, Police, Councillors and other members of the 'Community Safety Partnership' to implement interventions and/or enforcement of the Tenancy Agreement, through for example an  Acceptable Behaviour Agreement (ABA), or Anti Social Behaviour Injunction (ASBI).”

Georgina will be responsible for developing and implementing a cost-effective and successful strategy which aims to ensure that everyone living in or near mhs homes owned properties is able to live peacefully in their homes.

She will also play a pivotal role in working to foster positive teamwork between mhs homes and the range of agencies, such as the Police and other community partners, who have in-depth knowledge of our local communities.
