About the mhs homes group
mhs homes was formed in 1990 when it acquired the entire housing
stock of the then Rochester Upon Medway City Council. It is an
Industrial and Provident Society, which means that we are a
non-profit making organisation.
mhs commercial services and mhs community charity have since
been established to help us meet our objectives. Together with mhs
homes they form the mhs homes group. For more information about
each subsidiary of the group please use the links at the bottom of
the page.
Our main purpose is to provide quality homes for people at
affordable rents. We own and manage 8000 homes in the Medway
area of Kent.
Other things we do include:
- Running retirement housing schemes for people over 55 years of
age
- Providing accommodation for key workers like nurses, hospital
staff and teachers
- Building new homes for rent
- Helping to build communities where people want to live
As Kent's biggest independent landlord we have welcomed the
national initiative launched by the National Housing Federation
designed to streamline and raise the public perception of housing
associations. Please visit the 'iN business for neighbourhoods'
website at www/inbiz.org.uk for more
information.
